Cardboard Construction Project

I chose to construct a cardboard fish for my construction project because that is what I did for my paper sculpture and I wanted to try it out with cardboard. It is a lot different then my paper fish sculpture, especially the construction of it and the quality of the materials. To construct it I cut out the parts that I needed and to put the parts together I used a hot glue gun. To make it 3d I measured the cardboard parts for the inside against the parts that I wanted to fit together so that they would fit really well when I glued them all together.
To improve my project I could have added some scales to the fish by cutting out more parts, I thought about putting on the scales but I was not sure how to do it. I wish that I would have thought about the idea earlier. I like how my project turned out overall I think that the fish looks kind of cute. It turned out a lot better then my paper sculpture of a fish, cardboard is easier to construct then the paper was for me.

This fish project was also inspired from my fish that I have at home, Ruby. Growing up I have always had some kind of fish in the house because of my mom´s love for them. At one point my mom kept on finding fish to adopt on craigslist and she just had to adopt them, so sweet of her. So this project reminds me of my mom and my fish Ruby.

I have never really had much experience constructing something that is not flexible. So this was interesting for me because to glue the parts together I had to figure out how to do it in a way where the cardboard did not bend.
